Get ready for the thrill ride of the summer when you attend the ‘Journey to the Center of the Earth Cache Event & Challenge.’ The date is Sunday, July 27th at the Sturgeon Point Marina in the Evangola area. The event will begin at 2 pm.
For eats, there is a hotdog stand located just a few steps away from our event location. They offer hotdogs, hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, fries, ice cream and more. Picnic tables and a grassy area are also available for those who would prefer pack their own food. Bring a lawn chair if you want the best seat in the house.
After we meet, greet and eat, there will be 2 exciting challenges available for all who wish to get adventurous. Prizes will be awarded to the winners, so hone your geosenses for a trip to the center of the earth.
Feel free to come early and cache in the area before the event starts because there are plenty of finds to be found. For those who wish to boldly go where no man has gone before, The Trekkie Trail is located right up the road from the event.
There will also be a Travel Bug/Geocoin exchange, so bring your critters with you.

2:00 to 2:30 - Sign the attendance log at the Sturgeon Point Marina sign with the big fish on it near Ground Zero and drop off travel bugs..
2:00 to 3:15 - Meet, Eat and Grab a few caches the immediate area.
3:15 - Group Photo by the Sturgeon Point Marina Sign with the big fish on it.
3:20 - Travel Bug Exchange
3:25 - Door Prize Drawing (You must be present to win)
3:30 - The instructions for the Journey to the Center of the Earth challenges will be distributed and then the adventure will begin.
Photos of the winners will be posted on the event site for everyone to see.
