San Felipe Trail #2-Ohlone Rock Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Nomex: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

The San Felipe Trail is a popular walking and biking trail that follows San Felipe Road.  This series of caches along the trail is intended to be done on foot.  There is safe legal parking near the first cache (San Felipe Trail-Silver Oak) but very little near the subsequent caches.

This cache is situated near a pair of very large rocks.  Supposedly the Ohlone Indians used to use this area as a kitchen prep area.  People have told me the top of the rock has depressions in it that look like it was used as a mortar & pestle for grinding grains.  I've *carefully* crossed the road and scrambled up the rock, but I don't see any evidence of this.

The cache itself can accomodate trading items up to 1.75" in diameter by 6" long.
