It starred Christopher Lee and Patrick Macnee as Holmes and Watson in old age. In the film, Holmes is about to retire to Sussex and keep bees when the king sends him on a mission to South Africa to retrieve the Star of Africa diamond.
A multitude of robberies, recoveries and major and minor intrigues transpire before the denouement at the titular falls.
Complications arise and Holmes meets several historical characters including ex-President Theodore Roosevelt, portrayed by Claude Akins, and Lillie Langtry, played by Jenny Seagrove. He also encounters the fictional character A.J. Raffles.
When originally presented on European television, Incident at Victoria Falls was a four-hour miniseries, with Jenny Seagrove appearing in a sizeable role. For its American syndicated-TV bow in 1992, the film was somewhat clumsily chopped down to two hours, and Seagrove's part was eliminated although her name still appears in the opening and closing credits.
It is, apparently, not a one of the best Sherlock Holmes TV adaptations. There is a link to the video at the bottom of the page should you wish to indulge.
The cache is located just off the road in an area that is great for having a look at the Zambezi. I have added a waypoint for a parking area that is close by should you not be able to get your vehicle parked at GZ, this shouldnt be a problem though. Be sure to continue up the road where you will find a Waymark for The BIG tree.Keep an eye out for Elephants and other wildlife.
Congrats to Team GBS for FTF.
