About the location:

You're standing in Seneca Park. Why is that significant? Seneca is actually the name of a ghost town that was located here. Back in the early 1800s there were two small settlements in this area, Seneca and Caledonia. Seneca and Caledonia were both small villages that had dams, mills and houses. So what happened to Seneca you ask?

In 1840, Caledonia's founder Ranald McKinnon pushed for the Hamilton-Port Dover Plank Road (which later became Highway 6) to pass through Caledonia. Seeing this, James Little (who lived in Seneca and owned a mill there), bought up land on the south side of the Grand River and built the Haldimand House Inn. The final nail in the coffin was when Little put his house on a barge and brought it up to Caledonia. The village of Seneca failed and everyone moved to Caledonia where its busy road made it prosperous.

About The Song:

Mittens is one of two Christmas songs Carly Rae Jepsen has made so far. It was featured on 604 Records (The Second Noel)
