We originally hid this cache in a different location but apparently OldDweeb was having the same thought. He published his - the day I stashed mine.
So after a few months we thought we would make the trek up Santa Ynez from Palisades to rescue and rehide the cache. Truthfully, I like this location much better. The views are amazing.

Cache is in a very obvious spot. If your within 20 feet, you will not miss the manmade mountain. We hid this specifically to launch a travel bug for klk's niece Alyssa, who fell in love with big boats on a day trip to Long Beach when she was here on vacation.
There are two ways to approach the GZ. You could begin your journey at Paseo Miramar, Los Liones, Topanga, Temescal, or the way we came - up the short but steep Santa Ynez Canyon from Palisades drive. Choose wisely as this is the difference between making this find a 2.5 or a 4 terrain.
