Geocache Description:

This cache is located at the start of one of my favorite hikes on St. John: The Fish Bay Gut! While finding the cache may be fairly simple, completeing the hike is a different story.

Cache is a medium tupperware container cotaining log book and pencil. It is located in a very tropical area of St. John; the entrance to the Fish Bay Gut and the Fish Bay Native Plant Garden. It is right off the road.

If you are so inclined once you find the cache, begin your hike up the gut. Make sure to wear sneakers. The hike is most beautiful during or after the rain, as this is a gut and there will be flowing water under your feet, knees, or waist! This obviously also makes the terrain slippery, so beware. The hike starts off very simple, then will turn into a rock scramble, then some light/medium rock climbing! Your hike will open up to the first freshwater pool with a rope swing over it. Keep going and the path will split. To the left, waterfall! To the right, another pool. Again, this all depends on recent rain!

Don't try to "get out" of the gut at any point. You'll risk getting lost in the bush! Whenever you have had enough, simply turn around and go back down the way you came. And don't hike the gut alone!

Happy hunting/hiking!

And remember, even though the cache rating is EASY, the hike afterwards is NOT :)
