Cache is placed to bring you to the Cutler-Donahue Covered Bridge, located in the County Park in Winterset, Iowa. The cache is not located in the park, but be sure to take a picture of the bridge if the park is closed or take a walk through the bridge and take pictures if the park is open.
The Cutler-Donahue Covered Bridge is listed as 15-61-02 in the registry of covered bridges, and is shown as being built in 1871. The bridge was built by Eli Cox, using a town lattice design, and is 79 feet long. The bridge was moved here to City Park in 1970, and was renovated in 1997. Please take the time to tour the remaining 5 covered bridges of Madison County, Iowa, all of which at this time list hosting a geocache nearby.
Cache has been placed by the "Buckeye Brats" geocaching team, comprised of petroypa70, skibug9, and clint5566 on a geocaching tour through midwestern states in April of 2014. The Bridges of Madison County was on their "To Do" list.
