Brodick
Brodick is the largest village on the island, and offers visitors the best selection of services on Arran. Brodick is strung out along the landward side of the main road forming the village promenade. Here you will find shops, cafes and hotels. Brodick also home to the main ferry terminal and the tourist information centre which is located close to the ferry terminal.
The shore itself comprises a fairly narrow band of mixed grass, sand, rock and shingle looking out over Brodick Bay.
Magnificent views can be had in Brodick although most are dominated by the imposing stature of Goatfell, Arran's highest peak at 874m. You can see every inch of the mountain as it rises steadily from the sea to reach its classically sharp summit. Equally impressive is the view just west from Goatfell, to the lower jagged ridges and peaks surrounding Glen Rosa.
Brodick Castle is a tall stately building built from red sandstone, fronted by a Brodick bay, surrounded by gardens and overlooked Goatfell. The woodland garden, begun in 1923 by the Duchess, is now home to an internationally acclaimed rhododendron collection. The walled garden dating from 1710 has been restored as a Victorian garden. The country park has waymarked trails, woodlands, waterfalls, gorges, wildlife ponds, a nature room and wildlife garden.
Some new caches will be placed within walking distance from the ferry terminal, and the mega team will be there at the Fishermans Walk to provide you with refreshments and for a chat. The Mega team can also help you with any questions you may have on the weeks events, and even give you the odd hint or two to help solve any Arran puzzle caches that are stumping you! We'll also be swapping trackables.
The Event
Take a leisurely stroll along Brodick seafront upto the Fishemans walk where the Arran Cachers will be waiting with a fishermans walk hunt, where you'll be able to collect your own friend from Arran.
An easy and scenic walk 2 mile walk skirting the shoreline of Brodick beach, taking you towards Cladach. Probably the best view of Goatfell on the island and a great place to stop of a break as there are shops and cafes there.

Getting There
The ferry departs from Ardrossan, and only takes an hour to get to Cumbrae.
The ferry accommodates vehicles and foot passengers and has a restaurant, cafe, and lounges for your comfort. Dogs are allowed in all lounges so you can bring your canine cacher along too.
Dont worry if you miss the ferry back there are lovely cafes and shopping to be enjoyed in Brodick including the most amazing chocolate shop!
