Geocache Description:

Samsonslane

This cache is a 120ml screw top container with logbook and pen.

This is a very short track which is used by 4x4’s and tractors to access a lovely sandy beach at Mill Bay from the end of Samsoslane. It can be done on its own as a cache and dash, or as a waypoint for a 3.5 mile walk/caching trail starting from the Community Centre and finishing in the Village of Whitehall. There is no parking spaces at this cache the closest parking is at the Community Centre. There are a few caches on this route taking in some of Stronsays history and folklore. The first part of the trail is from the Community Centre along the tarmac road and turning left into Samsonslane. The second part is along the sandy beach. The third part is over rocky slabs which can be slippy when wet so care should be taken. The last part is along a tarmac road into the village.
