Geocache Description:

The 2nd in my Rails2Trail series. Out with mom placing caches and trying to beat a storm front. 6 miles on trail today. Yep, we got wet lol

After a great response with the original launch of this trail by CrazyKC he has decided to relaunch it. Multiple cachers that make up "Western Reserve Geocachers" will all be hiding caches along the new geotrail. Walk or Ride series will be replaced with the new Rails2Trail series. Trail launch date is June 8th 2014.

The Western Reserve Greenway Trail (WRGT) GeoTrail is a 26 mile long paved trail owned by Ashtabula County Metroparks. The trail receives no public funds and is up kept only by grants and donations. It is totally maintained by volunteers so please keep trail beautiful and as always CITO. A volunteer bike patrol that also helps to maintain the trail, offer information and help for visitors to the trail. Feel free to Walk or Ride the trail and site see along the way. No motorized vehicles are allowed on the trail. Currently there are around 150 caches along this section of trail. There are many bridges and sites to see. Benches are located in various places along the trail to stop and take a break. For the most part the trail is well shaded and also has a nice pavilion area at the Lampson Rd staging area in Austinburg. Other parking areas are located at West Ave in Ashtabula, Woodman Ave in Ashtabula, Old Austinburg Rd in Saybrook, SR 307 in Austinburg, Eagleville Jefferson Rd, Station St in Rock Creek and Penniman Rd in Orwell just south of US 322. The GeoTrail was created by CrazyKC and "Western Reserve Geocachers". Coins funded by the Ashtabula County Convention & Visitors Bereau. In order to earn the Geocoin you must complete the whole 26 miles of trail and write down 2 code words from each mile of trail. Each mile has at least 3 or 4 code words. Words are located on lids and or logs along with the mile number. Once you have completed the trail and have your 52 code words you can receive your coin from ACC&VB located at (GC2ZNZW) You may also Pick up coins at Shannons Mini Mart at the trail and RT 307. YOU MUST HAVE ALL 52 WORDS TO RECEIVE COIN (First come first served) See passports for more info. When claiming your coin you will be asked to complete a brief survey.
