Abbazia di Praglia
La provincia di Padova è ricca di luoghi sacri, testimonianze di una profonda devozione e fede. Allo stesso tempo i monasteri e i conventi ci ricordano la vivacità e l’importanza nel campo della cultura e della ricerca. Il Monastero di Praglia ne è un esempio.
Chiuso: tutti i lunedì; Capodanno; Epifania; Mercoledì delle Ceneri; dal giovedì santo alla domenica di Pasqua; Pentecoste; Assunzione; Tutti i Santi; Immacolata; Natale e vigilia.
Poco distante da Abano Terme, sulla via verso Teolo, un lungo filare di alberi secolari fa da ingresso all’abbazia di Praglia.
Protagonista di alterne vicende, dalle origini (XI e XII secolo) fino alla soppressione napoleonica nel 1810, l’attuale complesso e è frutto di una ricostruzione effettuata tra XV e XVI secolo. Tra i tanti tesori d’arte, la chiesa conserva affreschi e dipinti di scuola veneta ed un crocifisso ligneo attribuito alla cerchia di Giotto.
È una struttura funzionale e armonica che si articola su circa 13.000mq. di spazi coperti.
L’abbazia è la casa di Dio, uno spazio teologico vitale per una comunità di uomini che condividono la ricerca del Signore seguendo la Regola di S. Benedetto (possibilità di soggiorno nella foresteria).
È un centro molto attivo dove i monaci si occupano di attività lavorative: nel Restauro del libro antico, nella Cosmetica “Apis Euganea”, nell’Erboristeria “Pratalea”, nell’apicoltura, nella coltivazione della vigna e nella cantina, nella pubblicazione di opere a carattere monastico e spirituale con la collana “Scritti Monastici” sede di Associazioni Culturali, di una ricchissima e antichissima biblioteca e di un famosissimo centro per il restauro del libro.
Il Monastero è aperto al pubblico e visite guidate sono organizzate tutti i giorni, escluso il lunedì.
E’ presente un negozio nel quale acquistare i prodotti del monastero: miele, tisane, vini, libri, prodotti di cosmetica.

Praglia Abbey
The province of Padua is rich in sacred places, evidence of deep devotion and faith. At the same time the monasteries and convents remind us of the vitality and importance they have had for culture and research. The Monastery of Praglia is one example.
Closed: Monday, New Year’s day, Epiphany, Easter Triduum, Easter Sunday, Pentecost, Assumption, All Saints Day, Immaculate Conception, Christmas and Christmas Eve.
Not far from Abano Terme, on the way to Teolo, a long row of centuries-old trees creates the entrance to the Praglia abbey.
The abbey went through ups and downs from its origins (11th and 12th century) until the Napoleonic suppression in 1810 and the current complex is the result of reconstruction carried out between the 15th and 16th century. Among the many art treasures, the church contains frescos and paintings from the Venetian school and a wooden crucifix attributed to Giotto's circle.
It is a functional and harmonious structure which consists of about 13,000 square metres of covered spaces.
The abbey is a house of God, a vital theological space for a community of men who share the search for the Lord by following the Rule of St. Benedict (it is possible to stay in the guesthouse). It is a very active centre where the monks are involved in work activities including the restoration of old books, the "Apis Euganea" line of natural bee-based cosmetics, Erboristeria "Pratalea" (herbalist shop), beekeeping, the cultivation of the vineyard and the wine cellar, and the publication of monastic and spiritual works with the book series "Monastic Writings". It is a place of Cultural Associations, with a rich and ancient library, and a world-famous centre for book restoration.
The Monastery is open to the public and guided tours are organized every day except Monday.
There is a shop which carries the monastery's products: honey, herbal teas, wines, books, and cosmetic products.

Die Abtei von Praglia
Die Provinz Padua ist reich an heiligen Orten, Zeugnissen eines tiefen Glaubens. Gleichzeitig erinnern uns die Klöster jedoch an die Lebendigkeit dieser Orte und an deren Bedeutung für die Kultur und die Forschung. Das Kloster von Praglia ist ein Beispiel dafür.
Geschlossen: Montags, Neujahr, Hl. Drei Könige, Kartage, Ostern, Pfingsten, Maria-Himmelfahrt, Allerheiligen, Unbefleckte Empfängnis, Weihnachten und Heiligabend.
Ganz in der Nähe von Abano Terme, auf dem Weg nach Teolo, begleitet eine lange Reihe von jahrhundertealten Bäumen die Ankunft in der Abtei von Praglia.
Der Gebäudekomplex war von seiner Entstehung (im 11. und 12. Jahrhundert) bis zur Schließung durch Napoleon im Jahr 1810 Schauplatz der unterschiedlichsten Geschehnisse und ist in seiner heutigen Form das Ergebnis einer im 15. und 16. Jahrhundert ausgeführten Erneuerung. Unter den vielen Kunstschätzen bewahrt die Kirche Fresken und Gemälde der venetischen Schule und ein hölzernes Kruzifix, das der Gruppe um Giotto zugeschrieben wird.
Das funktionelle, harmonische Gebäude nimmt ca. 13.000 m² ein.
Die Abtei ist das Haus Gottes, ein vitaler theologischer Raum für eine Gemeinschaft von Männern, die die Suche nach Gott nach den Regeln des Heiligen Benedikt miteinander teilen (Übernachtungsmöglichkeiten im Gästehaus). Sie ist ein sehr aktives Zentrum, in dem sich die Mönche verschiedenen Tätigkeiten widmen: der Restaurierung von alten Büchern, der Kosmetik “Apis Euganea”, der Kräuterkunde “Pratalea”, der Bienenzucht, dem Anbau und der Verarbeitung von Reben, der Veröffentlichung von Werken spiritueller Art in der Schriftenreihe “Scritti Monastici”; die Abtei ist außerdem Sitz von kulturellen Verbänden, einer außerordentlich reichhaltigen und alten Bibliothek und einem berühmten Zentrum für die Buchrestaurierung.
Das Kloster ist für das Publikum geöffnet und es werden täglich – außer montags – Führungen organisiert.
Die Produkte des Klosters können in einem eigenen Geschäft erworben werden: Honig, Kräutertees, Wein, Bücher, Kosmetikprodukte.
