Wat Sa Si.
The temple si located in Sukhothai Historical Park.
When caching in Thailand please bring replacement caches and repair kits. I appreciate the help.
Wat Sa Si likely has the best location in the heart of the historical city of Sukhothai, surrounded by lakes and greenery. According to one of the Sukhothai Inscription (stone tablets) building at Wat Sa Si started the late 14th century. There is mention of the stupa being built in 1384, likely to provide a resting place for the deceased King Li Thai, who reigned from 1347 till 1368/74. The main structures when entering Wat Sa Si : the stupa to the left, in the middle the assembly hall (with a splendid sitting Buddha Image), and further to the right over another bridge, the Ordination Hall (not much left of it). The statue of a walking Buddha just after entering the 'island' is extremely photogenic, but likely was a later addition to the temple compound. Wat Sa Si is located just a few hundred meters north of Wat Mahathat
