Geocache Description:

UK Mega Event 2014 - Cachine Canine Capers

Eglinton Park
KA12 8TA

Friday 1st August.
1pm till 4pm

Eglinton Country Park covers an area of 400 acres with several miles of varied and beautiful walks catering for all ages and abilities. There are many routes you can combine meaning no two walks need be the same. Enjoy a mixture of habitats as you pass from parkland path, to riverside walkway, woodland and forest, or open hill to loch shore. Whether your out to take a refreshing walk in the rain and splash through some muddy puddles or to gently stroll to a special view point, you will find Eglinton has much to offer for both health and spirit.

What better place for a canine caching event, as Eglinton encourage responsible dog walkers to come and enjoy the park.

They're our faithful companions, who will go caching in the rain and snow and dont care if its a DNF, just as long as there is a walk, so lets give them an afternoon when the box at the end of the walk if for them. No shells, pens or small toys in the box, they want chews and balls and squeeky toys, and event better sausages!

Aaawww, come on! Dont leave me here, there are canine caches to be had!

Canine Caching Trail

The event will start with a leisurely walk round a specially created, one day only, canine caching trail which will include a number of (non loggable)canine caches with all the things your dog wishes were in the regular caches that you find. Treats, toys and more....

Head over to the table at the co-ords and say hello to Flyfishermanbob, Finlay and his Drudge, and JackieC, who will provide you with a map of the canine trail and a doggie bag.

There will be plenty of space to socialise, and the opportunity to swap trackables and ask any questions about the Mega event.

The park has plenty of facilities on site, including a cafe, if you get peckish.
Canine Capers

Then, weather permitting, we will have a mini "Canines Got Talent" event where you can show off your caching canines skills at agility, obedience or anything else thats a 'talent'.

Of course there will be prizes for the most talented!!!

No dog? Well why not bring a chair and get yourself an ice cream and watch the proceedings.

Can any dog resist the walk of temptation?

Which pooch will win Flyfishermanbob's sit&stay challenge?

Which dog would the reviewer most like to take home?

Please put this event on your watchlist if you want to be kept informed.
Not Just A Woofy Wander

Not got a caching canine? Well its of no matter as the canine caching trail will also have special, one day only, boxes for the human cachers too, filled with goodies

Please remember that this is an canine caching event, so please say hello to all the canine cachers you meet on the walk.

The trail used will not be finalised until nearer the time, but we will endavour to use the most interesting and stick filled paths as possible.

As with all events, you are responsible for your own safety, and the events team cannot be held responsible for any loss of injury occurred.
