Hiawatha, the legendary Native American leader may bring you to this place. However, for 60 years, many would venture to Pipestone the last two weekends in July and first weekend of August to view the Hiawatha Clubs production of Longfellow's epic "The Song of Hiawatha".
The Three Maidens rock formations served as the campsite background. Imagine the entire amphitheater coming alive with stunning lighting, Hiawatha running through the many paths, a cast in colorful costumes along with tepees dotting the land ending with Hiawatha gently canoeing across the lake. Thanks to all who made this production memorable all those years. The final year of production was 2008.
Permission was given to place the cache.
