Geocache Description:

Cache placed by the National Trust Ranger team. Fantastic views over Derwent Water on a very popular mountain, but you will probably have this site to yourselves. The name of this fell comes from the Old English belde, or 'lair of the wild cat' and it's the classic walk to do from beside Derwent Water.

The easiest way to find this cache is go up the public footpath to Hause Gate then, head towards Cat Bells summit but traversing (not ascending) and then descend diagonally down to this cache avoiding the small rocky bluffs that are directly above it.
You can also include this cache in your walk over Cat Bells, starting from the path up the 'nose' from the Skellgill junction.
It's such a popular route that parking can be really difficult - either get their early to snag a spot in the tiny National Trust carpark on the Skellgill road or take the launch from Keswick to Hawes End landing stage, the 77a bus also runs from Keswick to Cat Bells April-October.
