Seit Juli 2011 besteht im Wiener Prater, direkt an der Hauptallee gelegen, die 1. Wiener Disc-Golf Anlage.
Im Jahr 2012 wurde die Anlage erweitert und umfasst somit nun 14 Bahnen.
Die Benutzung der Anlage ist das ganze Jahr möglich und kostenlos. Nehmt euch also einfach eine Scheibe mit wenn ihr den Cache hebt, dann könnt ihr auch gleich eine Runde Disc Golf spielen.
Beim Disc Golf wird eine Disc (umgangssprachlich oft als Frisbee bezeichnet) vom Abwurf zum Ziel, einem Korb, geworfen. Die Scheibe wird immer genau von dort weitergespielt wo sie beim vorangegangen Wurf zu liegen gekommen ist. Es ist immer jener Spieler zum Werfen dran, dessen Scheibe am weitesten vom Korb entfernt liegt.
Man notiert einfach die benötigten Würfe pro Bahn und addiert diese am Ende zusammen. Gewonnen hat derjenige, der am Ende die wenigsten Würfe benötigt hat.
Disc Golf kann mit jeder beliebigen Scheibe gespielt werden. Wer öfter mal eine Runde spielen möchte sollte sich aber richtige Disc Golf Scheiben besorgen. Je nach Wurf gibt es verschiedene Scheiben mit verschiedenen Flugeigenschaften.
Bei 48.201552,16.421767 findet ihr eine Hinweistafel mit einer Spielerklärung und seid auch gleich beim 1. Tee (Abwurf der 1. Bahn)
Der Cache ist direkt neben einer Spielbahn der Anlage versteckt. Bitte passt auf, dass ihr nicht die Wurfbahn von Disc Golf Spielern durchquert. Eine Disc Golf Scheibe kann durchaus schmerzhaft sein. Es handelt sich um einen klassischen Tradi.

In July 2011 the 1st Vienna disc golf course was opened in the Prater. It is located directly at the Hauptallee.
In 2012 the course was upgraded to a total of 14 holes.
You can play the course all year long free of charge. So take a disc with you when you look for the cache and combine a geocaching and disc golf.
Disc golf is played with a flying disc (Frisbee). The goal is to get the disc from the tee to the hole with as few throws as possible. Each throw is made from the location where the disc stopped before.
Just write down the the amount of throws for each player on each hole and add them finally. The one with the fewest throws wins.
Disc golf can be played with any flying disc, but there are special golf discs. Depending on the situation you choose a driver, midrange or putter. Those discs have special flying characteristics
At 48.20155,16.42177 you can find a sign that explains the rules and gives an overview over the course and the 1st tee.
The cache is very close to a hole. Please watch out that you don’t stand in the throwing direction of some disc golfers. A disc golf disc can really hurt.
