MyFavGCers: scoldsteve Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

DougyB: Another cache being archived. I enjoyed seeing a lot of the logs come in on this one, espescially where it was the first of its kind someone had found.

Thank you to all who visited.

Geocache Description:

This is the fourth in a series of caches honouring My Favourite Geocachers.

This container may be easy or hard to locate, depending on if you have ever encountered one of these before.

As always, beware of muggles. Mall parking is available at the GZ.

I first met scoldsteve at the GZ of a local hide. I was sitting comfortably at home one morning when a new cache was published nearby. My wife and I dropped everything and headed over to see if we could find it. scoldsteve was already there, searching for the elusive find. Steve's brother (another renowned local cacher) joined us, but alas the four of us had to DNF this one (by way of explanation, it was a Cute&Cuddly find, which will mean a lot to the more experienced local cachers). I came to get to know Steve and learn many things about him, including his passion for movies (hence the setting of this cache). Check out his "It's all about the movies" series of puzzle caches. I have also learned that Steve can be an FTF "hound", beating out the local king of firsts to many of my newly published caches.

My favourite story about scoldsteve has to do with a Brampton cache with a D5/T5 rating. A group (including several who had previously DNFd this cache) decided to attempt it after attending a CITO nearby. The cache is located in a little valley, by a pond, inside a field of rocks about 10mx10m. We all took a zone and began to look. Within what seemed to be mere seconds, Steve called out the words we all wanted to here, "Found it!". He had solved a difficult hide that had stumped many us, and did so in record time.

Steve, it has been a lot of fun getting to know you at various caches and events around Brampton. At the end of this month, you will have reached 7 years of geocaching ... that is quite a milestone! I always enjoy seeing your logs on my caches, especially the FTFs. And the next time we need a rock hound, we are going to call on you!!!
