This is a fun, family friendly cache. The original was built by kids, for kids and was a beautiful little village located off the trail at the base of a mossy stump. Unfortunately, time and the elements took its toll on the original hide. After adopting this cache, we wanted to fix up what we could. Sadly, a recent rain had wiped the entire village out, but we did find one of the elements a little further down the nearby creek bed. We collected the element (a mushroom table) and decided to see if we could rebuild the village. One of the Arabia Alliance team and family took some time to build this new container. The old element fit perfectly with the theme. This one will take a little effort to retrieve, but we hope you have fun with it!
The Rockdale River Trail connects to the South River Trail and the Arabia Mountain Trail. These trails wind through the beautiful communities and natural settings that are now protected by the Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area. The winding and sometimes hilly trails are perfect for hiking and biking. The landmark near the GZ is interesting as it points out a mile marker in the PATH history.

Cell service will be limited in various areas on the AMNHA Geo-Path. If you are using your cell phone, you can download the cache info to your phone and travel the trails using the offline mode.

This nature preserve, like other Georgia woodlands, has ticks during all but the winter season. Take precautions that include wearing a hat, a long sleeve shirt, and long pants with legs tucked into socks. Wear light colored clothing for ease of spotting ticks, especially deer ticks that are the size of a pin head. Use bug spray with the chemical DEET and especially spray around the ankle area.
