Welcome to the Monastery

Located near the Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area, the Monastery of the Holy Spirit offers a place of quiet reflection surrounded by natural beauty.

From here, a short walk or ride will take you along trails that connect to the Monastery grounds. As you explore, you will find a peaceful setting shaped by history, craftsmanship, and a deep respect for the land.

Founded in 1944, the monastery is home to Trappist monks who live, work, and worship on the property. Visitors can explore the Abbey Church, gardens, bonsai displays, and the historic barn, now a museum reflecting the early days of the community.

The surrounding trails offer a natural extension of that experience, blending quiet wooded paths with open spaces that invite you to slow down and take it all in.

A Brief Cache History

This location has been thoughtfully maintained and cared for since its original placement, with contributions from Deere57, Arabia, Umwareagle, ckirbee, Offspringin, and others along the way.

Over time, the cache has seen creative updates and improvements, each building on the last to keep the experience fresh while honoring its original placement.

Today, it continues as part of the Arabia Alliance series, reflecting the shared effort and care that helps keep these locations active and enjoyable for everyone.

A Quick Note Before You Search

This cache may be a little different than what you expect. While many caches in the series use a traditional logbook, this one takes a slightly more creative approach.

Take your time, look carefully, and explore the container fully. The log is there, just not always where you first expect it.

South River Stroll

This geocache is part of the South River Stroll (SRS) series within the Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area.

Following the path of the South River, this series highlights the quieter side of the landscape, shaded trails, flowing water, and the hidden ecosystems that thrive along its banks.

Each stop along the way offers something a little different, inviting you to slow down and notice the details that make this corridor unique.
