元は二条児童公園と呼ばれていました。昭和天皇即位の記念に開かれた博覧会の会場に設けられた児童公園が元になっています。2005年にリニューアルされて、とてもきれいになりました。バリアフリーに配慮されたつくりで、段差が少なく、ベビーカーでの移動も楽々です。
人工せせらぎがあるので、夏の水遊びに重宝する公園です。
