Geocache Description:


Near to St Marys bridge.

A fairly quiet spot as you'll need time to find this tricky cache. I decieded that there was quite a few easy and simple caches in Derby city so I thought it's about time that there was a tricky one. St Marys is a lovely old church about which was said “St Mary’s, without exception the most magnificent thing that Catholics have done in modern times in this country” Dr Wiseman (1839). Over the road and you have the Clockworks building. The original home of Derbys famous clock makers Smith and Sons. Also Derbys most famous artist Joseph Wright lived there and so did John Flamsteed who was the first royal astromner.
