Navile Adventure - L'avventura Multi-Cache

Ciao avventuriero! Questo multi, se deciderai di farlo tutto, ti permetterà di esplorare quasi tutto il percorso lungo il canale Navile. Costruito a partire dal XII secolo, traendo acqua dal fiume Reno alla chiusa di Casalecchio, il canale Navile ha sempre fornito energia idraulica per gli opifici e i mulini della città. In uscita da Bologna, il Navile giunge a Malalbergo sfruttando anche un vecchio alveo del Savena, per poi immettersi nuovamente nel Reno. In questo modo la città è collegata al mare. Il Navile fu sempre una importante via per il trasporto di passeggeri e merci, con rendimenti assai superiori a quello via terra: un cavallo che traina un barcone lavora infatti come 500 cavalli su terra. Per superare i dislivelli del canale sono stati costruiti, in varie epoche, dieci sostegni o chiuse, che scoprirete quasi tutti cercando questo cache. La navigazione sul canale Navile cessa completamente nel 1948. Fino a quell'anno sul Navile sono in funzione in alcuni tratti 24 barconi, che possono trasportare fino a 100 quintali di merce per 300 lire di pedaggio.

Per poter trovare questo cache, dovrete prima raccogliere tutti gli indizi (sotto forma di lettera=numero) presenti in tutti gli 8 cache della serie, un elenco di questi è presente alla fine di ogni listing. I cache sono stati tutti piazzati lungo il sentiero che costeggia il canale Navile, può essere fatto a piedi o in bicicletta e in qualsiasi verso, il consiglio è quello di iniziare dal primo cache della serie: GC541JE (le coordinate di questo multi puntano proprio a quel cache come primo step) e procedere via via fino all'ultimo raccogliendo tutti gli indizi, ma nessuno vi impedisce di percorrere il sentiero al contrario. Lo scopo dei cache di questa serie (a differenza di un unico multi) è anche quello di dare a tutti la possibilità di vedere anche solo qualche pezzo di questo fantastico percorso, cercando i singoli cache, oppure fare il percorso completo (5 Km), ricompensati da questo cache aggiuntivo finale. A ognuno il suo gioco! P.S. se affrontate questi cache d'estate, ricordatevi un buon repellente per insetti!

Una volta calcolate correttamente le coordinate e raggiunto GZ, dovrete cercare un tupperware di dimensioni regolari, ben camuffato, non sarà facile da trovare e probabilmente anche il segnale GPS non vi aiuterà troppo, tenete conto che dovrete uscire un pò dal sentiero e la vegetazione potrebbe essere un ostacolo, non demordete, dopotutto è la conclusione della vostra avventura!

Hello swashbuckler! This multi, if you decide to do it all, will let you explore almost all the path along the Navile canal. Built starting from the XII century, getting water from the Reno river through the Casalecchio lock, the Navile canal had always provided hydraulics power to the factories and mills of the city. Going out from Bologna, the Navile canal reaches Malalbergo, taking advantage of an old riverbed of the Savena river, then it inserts back into the Reno river. In this way the city is connected to the sea. The Navile canal had always been an important way for passenger and goods transportation, with much bigger profits than the ground transportation: a horse that pulls a boat has a power comparable to 500 horses on the ground. In order to overcome the altitude gaps of the canal, during many epochs, ten locks were built, and you'll discover most of them by seeking this cache. The navigation on the Navile canal completely stopped during the 1948. Until that year, on the Navile canal, 24 boats were working and were able to transport up to 100 thousands kilos of goods with a tool of 300 lire.

In order to find this cache, you'll first need to get all the clues (in the form of "letter"="number") from all the 8 caches of this series, a list of these is available at the end of every listing. The caches have been placed all along the path that runs along the canal, it can be done by foot or bicycle and on any direction, the suggestion is to start from the first cache in the series: GC541JE (this multi posted coordinates points exactly at that cache as first step) and proceeding cache after cache until the last one, grabbing all the clues, but nobody stops you from walk through the path on the opposite way. The aim of these caches (instead of a single multi) is also to give everybody the ability of see even just some pieces of this wonderful itinerary, by seeking the single caches, or by doing the complete itinerary (5 Km), rewarded by this last additional cache. To each his own! P.S. if you try this caches during summer, don't forget to bring with you a good insect repellent!

Once you correctly calculated the coordinates and reached GZ, you'll need to search for a tupperware of regular size, well camouflaged, it won't be easy to find and probably the GPS signal won't help you a lot, keep in mind that you'll need to bushwack a little and the vegetation could be an obstacle, don't give up, it's the conclusion of your adventure!
