Bike and Nature Trails
Located about 15 miles east of Wichita near Augusta in Butler County. This small park on the outskirts of Wichita is a fun spot to go from an hour or two of technical riding or just to get a good workout. There are about 1.5 miles of trails interwoven in a wooded section of land straddling a creek that flows out of Santa Fe Lake. The NORBA-designed trails consist of moderate to difficult single-track with some short climbs and descents, tight corners, rocks, roots, and man-made stone embankments. Competitive races are occasionally held here. The park caretakers have been very receptive to the mountain biking community, and future plans have been made for additional trails to be added to the north of the present system.
TheLabGuys recommend you pay a $5.00 Park Permit Fee to enjoy a drive around the lake and walk or bike the Nature Trails.

•There are a few Geocaches located in the area so you'll be able to make the most of your lake day visit.
On to the cache:
All Geocachers who attended the "Let's Make a GeoCache! Maker Madness 2014" event (GC4ZM85) will recognize this huge ammo can used as the official log for the event! There are only 2 stages to this multicache as we are Excited to announce this container is our FIRST official multicache. This will be a fun adventure for the most advanced cacher and families looking to incorporate an activity full of excitement.
Stage 1: pill bottle located at the listed coordinates. (Madness cache coordinates held here)
Stage 2: Huge Ammo can will gain your smiley. (This can be approached from many start points. Any way you approach will lead you on a great hike - share your hiking experience in the online log as well!)
Parking:
for the Stealthy: after you receive the final coordinates, you may remain at the location and head directly to cache. Be quick; as this is still lake property and may require you to pay for a park permit. Quick and stealthy will grab the smiley in 15-30 minutes depending on your hunting skills and gps.
for the Adventurer: after you receive the final coordinates, you may retrieve your park permit ($5.00 day pass) and park at the Bike and Nature Trail area located west of the entrance. You will have passed this area to retrieve your permit, come back to begin your adventure! You will find several rocks and trees in this area to walk about as you keep left (north of parking area.) (This is where we began our hide adventure)
for the Family: after you receive the final coordinates, you may retrieve your park permit ($5.00 day pass) and park at the Bike and Nature Trail area located west of the entrance. You will have passed this area to retrieve your permit, come back to begin your adventure! You will find a nice open park area to steer clear of the trees as you keep right (east of parking area.) (This is where we ended our hide adventure)
