Geocache Description:

A series of caches placed to celebrate Albongo’s birthday

Albongo’s Birthday Loop is a series of 18 caches taking you on a 5km walk just outside the village of Hindon in Wiltshire. It has been placed to celebrate the ‘ahem-cough-splutter-th’ birthday of Albongo and has been contributed to by a number of cachers who have had the (mis?)fortune of getting to know the big man with the bigger voice.

Parking for the loop can be found on the High Street at the provided waypoint, and there are two pubs for some pre- or post-caching refreshments.

There are no stiles to cross, however the route can get very muddy and narrow in sections so is unfortunately unsuitable for wheeled cachers, and suitable footwear is advised.

There is often livestock in the fields adjacent to the loop but there is no need to join them in order to find the caches.

The section between caches #01 and #03 is along a road, and whilst this is quite quiet, please take care with children and keep dogs on the lead - there are wide verges along most of the road to help keep your little darlings safe (and the children too I suppose…)

Most of the caches are big enough for Travelbugs/Geocoins and all contain a pencil and geoswag, but please bring a spare with you just in case. Please re-hide the containers carefully once found.

Most importantly, have fun and Happy Caching! :D
