This is a replacement of the original Elk Rock Island cache. The cache is in a new location with new hints.
Elk Rock Island is the tip of an ancient volcano which at one time reached 15,000 feet high from base to tip. Later volcanic events raised the surrounding terrain to a point almost level with it. Being made of denser material the island persists as erosion occurs around it. The island is accessible by boat all year round and by foot much of the year. The cache is a ammo box.
