This little cache is hidden in Charnwood Lodge (commonly known as Warren Hills), a little off the main footpath in open access land. There are many large rocks in this area but no climbing is required to access this cache.
I've been walking and running in this area for around 10 years and I chose this location because it's where I quite often took a rest, before running back up the hill, out of the open access land to join the main path again.
There are a couple of routes to the cache, both from main roads with parking spots available as this area is popular with dog walkers. The cache isn't difficult to get to by foot but bikes would struggle and prams are a no no.
Charnwood Lodge is a conservation area and is of special scientific interest, so take care when trying to find the cache. There are ground nesting birds in this area too so stay clear of long grass and thistles where they might be nesting.
This cache was located with the kind permission of the Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust. I'd like to thank Neil in particular for working with me on finding a suitable location for this cache and granting me permission to place it here.
Happy geocaching...
