EWWW #3 Traditional Cache

Essex: West Wickford Walk - EWWW #3

This trail of 11 caches is approximately 2 miles from the start in Ramsden Crays to the finish in Galmington following public footpaths.  There is parking for 1 or 2 cars at caches  #1, #5 and #11 and the route can be started at either end, although the trail is generally not buggy friendly and can be tricky under  foot in part.

There are great views across the fields from the top of the hill at cache #2 both down towards Basildon and over to Ramsden Bellhouse.  Following the trail you will pass through Doeshill Farm past fields of horses and down to cross Borwick Lane.  This is a single track lane with very little traffic.

Cache #7 is near the new kennels and the terrain becomes more challenging, past the ancient privately owned woodland known as Noke Wood.  Expect to encounter some thorns, stinging nettles and random holes in the ground!

From around #9 onwards the landscape becomes much more open and easier to navigate.
