The Allosaurus
Allosaurus is a large theropod dinosaur that lived that lived 155 to 150 million years ago during the late Jurassic period. The name "Allosaurus" means "different lizard" and was first described by E. D. Cope in 1877 and become one of the first well known dinosaurs. Almost all Allosaurus fossils have been found in the Morrison Formation, a distinctive band of sedimentary rock found in the western United States.
As the most abundant large predator in the Morrison Formation, Allosaurus was at the top of the food chain, probably preying on large herbivorous dinosaurs and perhaps even other predators. Some paleontologists interpret Allosaurus as having had cooperative social behavior, and hunting in packs, while others believe individuals may have been aggressive toward each other.
Morrison Formation
The Morrison Formation is a distinctive sequence of Upper Jurassic sedimentary rock that is found in the western United States, which has been the most fertile source of dinosaur fossils in North America. It is centered in Wyoming and Colorado, with outcrops in Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, the panhandles of Oklahoma and Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, and Idaho. Equivalent rocks under different names are found in Canada. It covers an area of 1.5 million square km (600,000 square miles), although only a tiny fraction is exposed and accessible to geologists and paleontologists. Over 75% is still buried under the prairie to the east and much of the rest was destroyed by erosion as the Rocky Mountains rose to the west.

2.) What state is this Quarry located?
3.) There has been A few times during the year that geocachers have found the doors locked. If you are unable to enter the building, take a photo of the display from the outside and post it with your log as proof of you being there.
