Geocache Description:

Finally, a reason to bring your smartphone along with you caching besides using it to read that hint you forgot to print, or scouring previous logs for clues.  This cache will take you on a short walk requiring you to use your WiFi enabled device to scan the airwaves with promise of making the find.

Wardriving is the act of searching for Wi-Fi wireless networks by a person in a moving vehicle, using a portable computer, smartphone or personal digital assistant.

If you wish to seek this cache you will need a WiFi enabled device of any kind,  this includes smartphones, tablets or even a laptop.
This is a two stage multi cache with the final stage within walking distance of the first.  I recommend parking at the posted parking coordinates and proceeding on foot to stage one of the cache.  More than likely you will not need to get all the way to the posted coordinates of stage one to pick up the signal on your device.  The final stage will lead you back to the location that you parked your car at.

You are welcome to actually wardrive to seek stage one, but please only do so as a passenger in the vehicle.  Small children play on the street where the signal is broadcast and it would be unsafe for you to operate your WiFi enabled device while driving a vehicle.

At stage one you seek a public WiFi access point whose name will be in the format "GC N-XXX W-YYY".  Turn on your device and set it to scan for access points nearby.  A midst the other wireless networks you will find ours in the format above.  You do not need to actually connect to the access point.

The final is located at N 42° 09.XXX W 088° 19.YYY

Final stage is a small container large enough for the log and its writing utensil.

This cache is officially been granted permit #10 from the Village of Algonquin and permission has been given personally from the Deputy Police Chief for placement of this cache.
