This is a traditional cache that is a little non-traditional. It is "traditional" type because it is a container. It is also "traditional" because originally, caches were places in the wilderness where you would stockpile things you might need in the future. This traditional cache is filled with all kinds of first aid supplies rather than swag. Being in the medical field and being a geocacher I know there can be times when you are out caching and need a little first aid. Well, this cache was placed with that in mind. If you are out geocaching or if you are travelling the Blue Ridge Parkway and need some first aid supplies, feel free to stop at this cache. Take what you need, no need to trade out items like other swag. If you want to leave some swag though (or trackables) feel free to do so. However, if you are having a true medical emergency then CALL 911!
This cache is placed on my parents' property and this is their driveway. This is where I grew up. Please be respectful and practice CITO and try not to disturb the neighbors.
You may park at the end of the driveway (Dixie Lane) and start your search by entering the woods between Dixie Lane and Foggy Mountain Road. If you reach the NPS boundary marker, you've gone too far. As always, enjoy your caching experience, watch out for things that could injure you (bugs, sticks, snakes, etc.), and place things back like you found them. Please replace the natural camoflage around the container when done. There is a first to find prize of a flashlight and I placed some geocoins headed to Montana to my brother to re-start their journey. If you can move them along, please do so. Enjoy!
