This corner of Lake Meran has for about 4 to 5 decades been the summer haven for several family groups and close friends. Lots of fun camping, fishing, swimming, water skiing, sand castles etc. A good family fun time was had by all, and so it affectionately became known as ‘Camp Runamuck’ by all those who stayed here.
Sunsets here are just gorgeous, and with much bird and animal life it is a photographer’s delight.
The Lake was dry or unusable for about 6 years until the floods came in late 2010. The locals alongside the Kerang Rotary Club with donated money from other Rotary clubs worked hard to rebuild the facilities nearby. Please take a walk over to the BBQ area, and the display board there will tell much of the history and rebuilding. The annual Family Fun Day held on New Year’s Day has been enthusiastically resurrected.
