This should be a quick drive up and grab cache. It is in a frequently used pull out on Hwy 49, most safely approached when heading towards Auburn from Cool. This area is often used by truckers allowing others to pass so, pull as far forward as is safe.
I have a goal for 2014 of hiding caches on days when the month and date match. I hid one cache on 1/1, two caches on 2/2, and three caches on 3/3. With luck and hard work I can keep it up all year. This month was especially difficult because Dinosaur Day Science Fest was held on May the fourth. So, I have been super busy. Today is the fifth of May, Cinco de Mayo in Spanish. So, what better way to celebrate the day and honor the meaning of this Mexican holiday. Cinco de Mayo commemorates the Mexican Army’s defeat of French forces in the Battle of Puebla in 1862. In the U.S. we celebrate the day as a way of thanking Mexico for fending of a French invasion of the United States. So, you may want to tip back an ice-cold Corona with a slice of lime or a salty traditional Margarita on the rocks.
Remember, have fun and write a nice log.
