This is the very first, and of course it had to be near the place where it all evolves around, Villa Mira. When it was built in the mid seventies of the last century, it was still surrounded by orange orchards. Such a pitty all the nearby orchards disappeared in the eighties to make way for the 'urbanizaciones'. We've come here in springtime and in summertime. I remember very well it wasn' always sunny around Easter. One particular time it had been raining very hard for a long time, the entire street was flooded, and the water rose to a level where it almost entered the house. The wildlife had to seek a safe and dry haven on a higher level. Very distinctively, the snails were making their way upwards on rocks and walls. As young kids we played in the spontaneously arisen 'pool' that our garden was, and we played 'rescue team' for the snails, putting them in all kinds of floating objects and then on the walls of the house, so they could climb in their own pace to the roof. It is just one of the many happy and fun memories of our home in Spain.
In the 'starting' cache container there are five trackable items. They are our own very first trackable items. One for every member of the White Lions team plus one for grandpa Raphael, who was here with us, when we created this cache from his home.
Hope you enjoy the cache! And do have a peek at the lovely beach, just at the end of the road.
The cache is hidden to the LEFT of the street, when you face seaside. It is hidden on the property of Villa Mira, nr. 5. (Obviously, given the cache name.) Avoid contact with the neighbour opposite the street (Villa Timón). He's a bit of a 'loner' and has previously sabotaged the cache by cutting the thread, and then informing geocachers the cache is no longer there. The owners of the cache location 'Villa Mira' are my parents, and of course they know about the cache, and have given permission for it. They wholeheartedly support the geocaching community.
The cache can only be reached from the street. Do not enter the property. Unless you're invited over for drinks on the terrace by my father Raphael, who lives here most time of the year
. Happy caching!
