April 30 2005 changed the starting location to the #2 WP, original
start point missing Plan to spend most of the day on this one, nice
trails cache sites are more interesting toward the end.
Parking is at the Massapoag Dam on Groton road in
Tyngsborough. The trails are on the MIT Millstone Hill Haystack
Observatory site.
The trailhead is on a bearing of 130 deg from the "Bear Hill
Quarry" cache (N42 38.038 W071 29.595). The trail starts as an
unmarked woods road, take the first left on the trail with the
colored blazes.
This Mulit-cache has TWO information sites and one final cache.
The total trail length is 2.2 miles, assuming you take the right
trails and don't get lost. There are a lot of trails and the caches
are located off the major ones which are marked with
red/orange,yellow & white blazes.
If you continue East on the White trail from the final cache,
you will end on Keys road 300 meters south of the intersection of
Davis,Ingalls & Keys roads. If you did not want to take the
trail back to the start you could park a bicycle/car on Keys road.
Take Keys(N) to Davis(N)to Groton (W) back to the Trail head
parking.
