I Love 'Ewa Beach!
To find this cache, you’ll need to take a stroll through one of my favorite places, ‘Ewa Beach Park. The town of 'Ewa Beach is already a bit out of the way, so the park is somewhat of a "hidden" treasure. There’s a baseball diamond, a basketball court, a pavillion with stage, restrooms, showers, picnic tables, and a playground for the keiki… so why not make a day of it? Watch outrigger canoe paddling teams practice, take a swim, join the fishermen, or just lay out and relax under a tree... of course after you find the cache and sign the log. :-)
The park is located at the end of Fort Weaver Rd., across from Ewa Beach Golf Club and right next door to the Pu’uloa Range Training Facility, so don’t be surprised to hear the “pop! pop! pop!” of target practice. There is a parking lot, but keep in mind that it can sometimes get crowded on busy weekends, as the park is a popular place for parties/luau.
‘Ewa Beach Park is closed from 8:00pm - 5:00am.
This cache is an easy one. I simply love my hometown, 'Ewa Beach, and want to show off her beauty... so it's more about the spot than the difficult find (Hint/Spoiler will tell you exactly where it is). Just a short stroll through the park and along the shore will bring you to a fence that marks the end of the public beach. You might want to pay attention to the signs that warn about the prohibited U.S. Marine Corps property and live firing on the other side of that fence. It's the perfect spot to watch planes take off from Honolulu International Airport and take a photo of the world-famous Honolulu and Waikiki shorelines and iconic Diamond Head profile.
Note: Muggle fishermen like to cast on this side and beach houses are steps away, so be stealthy.
Congrats, FTF Skotlee! It's an honor, sir. :-)
(He's so fast, he found it before I edited the name to better rep 96706 LOL)
