In Tree Trunk Gorge the Waikato River, ice-cold and achingly emerald, turns sideways in a frothing torrent as it squeezes into a black basalt chasm. You can stop on the bridge for a quick look down into the dark slot, then grab a cache!!!!
By the two crosses and signage for paddlers one can assume things have gone teribly wrong here at some stage.
Cache is a sistema 200ml container, with log and pencil.
