“I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived” - Henry David Thoreau, Walden
This cache was placed with permission on the grounds of Penn State Altoona's Seminar Forest. The forty-acre forest was purchased by the College in 2008. It serves as a local recreational area, with hiking trails and picnic spots, as well as a place for environmental studies. Additional information can be found here: http://www.altoona.psu.edu/envst/seminarforest.php.
The site now includes a replica of Thoreau's famous cabin in the woods at Walden pond. Please take care to avoid damaging the grounds.
Parking coordinates are for across the street. Please do not park along the road.
