The other day, I saw a beautiful rainbow that looked like it landed Sandia Heights. I decided to follow it, and it took me to a parking lot, of all places. The parking lot had beautiful views of the Sandia Mountains, a rainbow flag on a nearby building, and it seemed like the perfect place to bury a pot of gold (aka a geocache with great swag!). So, with permission from the nearby organization (they thought it was a fun idea), I placed this cache in their lot.
***PLEASE SEARCH FOR THIS CACHE DURING DAYLIGHT HOURS ONLY***
Nearby neighbors, the organization who owns the parking lot, and neighborhood security have all expressed concerns about people hunting for geocaches at night in this area. Please respect the neighbors’ wishes and hunt for this one during daylight hours only. It's the best time to see a rainbow, anyway!
Also--since this is a big container, it will require some extra stealth. There are lots of dog-walkers in this area. There are also times when the lot will be busier. Saturdays and M-F before 9AM and after 1PM should be the calmest. If you really want to avoid the crowds, the nearby organization has a website with a schedule.
This is a large cache with lots of room for travel bugs, toys, and other swag. Enjoy!
Please replace the cache container the way you found it so that others can enjoy it. And as always, when caching in New Mexico, watch out for critters and pokey things. There may be some tiny prickles in the red rocks.
Congrats to fam2go for the FTF!
