The former Loftia Recreation Park was renamed in honour of Sir Mark Oliphant in 1996.
This used to be a well-kept place with a beautiful oval before they changed the name.
The shelter is still there. It was a popular picnic place for everyone.
The cars were allowed to park there. It is sad to see it like that.
