Karura Forest #11: Up North

The small custom-made bottle-tops cache is hidden at shin height behind bark pieces in a hole on the rear side of the large tree.
It was placed to mark the opening of a most enjoyable new North Trails section of the Karura Forest which has a 12km stretch of hiking/biking trails through Wangari's Corner and then running NW-SE on each side of the Ruaka River.
For background information on Karura Forest including access, fees, features, a detailed trail map and useful links, see GC4PD3V Karura Forest #1: Intro, Info & Entry
At the time of placing the cache the annual Rhinothon Cycle Marathon was taking place - a fund-raising event to raise money for rhino protection in the Aberdares, mainly through installation of electric fences to protect the mountain environment and wildlife from encroachment and poaching.
To reach the cache: Enter the Forest at Limuru Gate, pay the entry fee and proceed to park at the KFEET Centre. From the location of Karura Forest #1: Intro, Info & Entry (also has waypoints for Limuru Gate & KFEET Centre) head north to Junction 12 and then continue straight ahead along the Syke's Monkey Trail to Junction 12a. Turn left (NW) here to head the short distance to the cache.
Note: as always, kindly take care to replace the cache carefully so that it is properly concealed using the available materials
