Geocache Description:

Brough Ness Coastguard Station

This cache is a 500 ml cliplock container with logbook and pen with room for swaps and trackables.

As this is an exposed area. Please make sure the cache is well covered to prevent it from being blown away in the high winds/storms.

There is not much signs of activity at this Coastguard Station nowadays. It is located on the southerly tip of South Ronaldsay with excellent views across the Pentland Firth to islands of Swana, Stroma and the Pentland Skerries. There are several cairns in the vicinity. The cache site which is close by is a large stone which makes a natural seat to relax on while filling in the log and taking in the views.
