On August 28, 1990 at approximately 6:15 PM, an F1 tornado swept through the Quaker Run drainage of Allegany State Park. This tornado was one of four the occured in Western New York on that date.
Nearly a quarter century later nature has repaired much of the damage. Looking over the area today one can hardly believe the destruction that had been laid waste to the area.
