My purpose in creating this geocache was first and foremost to educate people about the nonsense of "ocean acidification."
The pH of the ocean is about 8.2. Pure water is 7.0 on the logarithmic scale. So pure water is about 18.4 times more acidic than ocean water, which is alkaline.
Some people want to continue promoting fear through disinformation. Don't be afraid. Don't listen to the "consensus" argument. Science isn't about consensus. It's about truth. The word "science" is derived from "scientia," Latin for "knowledge."

The claim that atmospheric carbon dioxide is increasing the pH of the oceans flies in the face of facts. Oceans are outgassing carbon dioxide, not absorbing it. They are the largest natural source of CO2, producing ten times as much CO2 as humans burning fossil fuels. Ten times!
Only one country is classified as "sustainable." That country is Cuba. Do you want to live like the Cubans? They sure don't.
