Geocache Description:

A walk or cache and dash of 12 caches around Diptford.

Please note boxes were wrongly numbered, so number 2 will say 3 etc.

Geocache Walk – MEMORIES OF DIPTFORD.

This walk is special to us as it’s around our home village.

This can be done as a 12 cache and dash, or if done as a walk you won’t miss out on the scenery.

Route is a circular one around the pretty Doomsday village of Diptford, with its 13th century church St. Marys, built 1227, and with one of the oldest medieval broach spires in the country. Diptford was home to the famous Diptford Greys, a beautiful breed of cockerel.

All but 1 cache, the last, can be done by wheelchair, although there is a couple of hills, is also dog friendly.

For number 3 park by the church and walk back to cache. Please look around church when walk completed.

Cache 3 - on return note the village school. Originally built in a corner of the churchyard as a poor house. Moved to present position in 1846 by the Rev. William Cooper-Johnson.
