Take Route 67 to the Battlefield. Go to the top of the hill and find the markers denoting where Colonels Herrick and Nichols led their troops. The cache is somewhere in the area.

As the sun rose on August 16, 1777 Colonel John Stark implemented a plan to drive out the British forces under the control of Lieutenant Colonel Baum. Baum and his forces had set up defenses in a very advantageous position at the top of a hill just west of the Walloomsac River. However, Stark split up his men and surrounded the British in order to initiate a multi-pronged attack. He sent Colonel Benjamin Nichols around to the North, Colonel Samuel Herrick around the South and to the West, and Colonels David Hobart and Thomas Stickney around to the South. This pincer move made by the upstart American militia allowed them to overwhelm the highly trained British forces and force them to retreat. This cache is directly in the path taken by the American forces under Nichols and Herrick. Can you imagine charging up the hill with them?
