THE CACHE
GZ is a reasonable and easy walk from the trail access point on SD RD 18/19, and is off trail by several feet. You must navigate down a slight slope once you are closer to the cache. Approach from the west and walk behind for the best and easiest access. Please watch your footing as there are fallen tree limbs in the area. In the summer, this trail is nice and shady under the canopy of large old trees. There is expansive farm land on the north side of the trail.
Watch for fast approaching muggles...they sneak up quickly on ATVs and bicycles!
The actual container that contains the log is a small camo covered jar, but that is attached to something bigger. The item holding the cache container, was what I picked up from all the containers on the swap table at the Maker Madness Swap Meet GC4ZMXV. At home, I decorated and embellished it appropriate to the cache name. This set up was inspired by the fact that my brother, who attends the Daytona 500 every year with his wife, chats to me daily via Skype during the entire adventure to Florida, the camping days right on the race grounds, and sporadically during the race event.
Please do not include a photo of this cache in your logs...save any photos of the cache for your own photo album so that all geocachers get the same surprise. Thanks.
PARKING
Parking is available during 3 seasons at the access point. Park roadside to the north or south of the trail entrance...carefully! Please leave lots of room for the ATVs to pass by. In winter the wall of plowed snow will probably block any safe parking, although the cache will still be available to be found easily.
ATTRACTION: shaded walk...novelty container
PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN PEN...the pencils have been known to grow feet and escape!
PLEASE BE MINDFUL OF WHERE YOU ARE RETRIEVING THE CACHE CONTAINER FROM, AND RETURN IT TO THE EXACT LOCATION TO PREVENT MIGRATION...IN THIS CASE, OFF THE GROUND. ALSO ENSURE THAT THE TINY CONTAINER'S LID IS FACING "UP", NOT SIDEWAYS AND THAT THE CAMOUFLAGED SIDE OF IT'S HIDE PROP IS FACING OUTWARDS
