Geocache Description:

Her finder man både glas, keramik, rav, smykker, filt, stoftryk, billedkunst og pileflet.

Lige over for Mygdalhus finder man glashytten ”Lillehøj” med glaskunst i taget.

THE COMBINATION LOCK IS NOT THE CACHE!!!

English:

The cache is placed in the small village of Mygdal, which is very vibrant in proportion to its size and position. Among other things, you will find a series of handicraft shops including a ceramicist, a glassblower and not least Mygdalhus (translated: house of Mygdal), where this cache is placed (outside the house of course).

The gallery of Mygdalhus is located in a former grocery shop, and started out in 2010 as a part of the “art route” between Bjergby and Mygdal (which among others also includes Peterspladsen and Odden). The entrepreneurs on the project were Line Hermansen and a handful of local artists. They received subsidy from the government’s art foundation.

Mygdalhus serves as a spot for exhibition and sale for artists and artisans in northern Jutland. Have a look inside and you will find glass art, ceramics, amber, jewellery, felt, textile print, visual art and wickerwork. There are both permanent exhibitions and temporary exhibitions by guest artists, so the place is worth visiting more than once. Many of the displaying artists have their own gallery or workshop in the local area, which creates a basis for an art tour in the area, if you are very much into art.

Mygdalhus is easily accessible wheelchair user and is open all days from Easter to Christmas. More about opening hours at mygdalhus.dk.

Just across the street from Mygdalhus you will find a small cabin called “Lillehøj” (translated: small hill) with glass art in its skylights. It was erected by the aforementioned glassblower Peter Kuchinke, as the locals thought there were too few gathering points and park areas in town.

The cache is placed with permission by the house owner. Please do not upload pictures of the container as you log!
