Geocache Description:

Another in my occasional series of history...

Travelling towards Blyth I spotted this oldie but a goodie. Typical of many that dot the landscape around here.

Who lived here?
How long ago did they vacate the building?
Why did they leave?
Looks like a great location for a renovation into a B&B?

So many questions so few answers, so if anyone can fill us in on some history it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks to TK2 for the following update...
A bit of history. This house was last resided in in the early 1980's by Mr F. Kirchner and family but was vacated for a new house approximately 10km east of this location but within 3 years the farming family had moved to The West (Western Australia), to try their luck as so many other South Australian farmers were doing at that time. I believe the property is still owned by one of his brothers, who still farm in the Hart/Condowie area. The house remained complete for a number of years until the late 1990's when the roof was removed to stop feral's from taking up residence(both 4 legged and 2).

The abandoned house is on private property, but the cache is accessible without going over the fence or through the gate, so please do not enter without express permission of the land owner.
