A new public footpath linking the Maxey Cut to the Welland Bank. The route goes along the north bank of the Maxey Cut, almost to the the railway line and then turns North to link up with an existing footpath that follows the south bank of the River Welland in a westerly direction, where it meets up with the Deeping Gate and Back series at #10. It is well marked and has information boards and benches, as well as two new bridges. There is room to park a car at the end of the trail and space for another on the other side of the Maxey Cut, near the cache Star Trail Three. Alternatively you may be able to park in Mile Drove or Peakirk village.
I have put the terrain as 2 after reading the online guidelines as the path starts with gravel, is then unpaved and involves more than ½ mile hike. Although this means it is suitable for small children, you will be walking next to 2 rivers so they will need to be supervised especially if you allow them to retrieve #4 which is on a steep slope and has a terrain rating of 3.
