EDIT 1/12/16 : The park was recently sold to the school district, so is in limbo, and currently CLOSED, pending development. Will either archive or re-enable cache depending on how things go.
This area is eventually going to be soccer fields, a dog park and a bike park, but currently just a lovely place to walk. Parking is available in lot off 240th from 8am-dusk. I suggest taking the gravel path to the left to begin, to keep shoes as dry as possible, but there are some permanently damp areas, and morning dew is very heavy so please wear appropriate shoes. The terrain engine set this terrain as a 3, but changing to a 2, as it really is not too bad, elevation and water, but it is very walkable. This is a great place to bring your cache hounds for a rousing game of fetch! The area of the cache has several notable features: First-- "Lake Wellington" in which many golfballs met their dismal end, and probably still lie in its muddy depths. Being the sharp-eyed geocacher you are, you are also likely to find at least one golfball in the surrounding greenery when you visit. Finally, at the start of the ninth hole, you might also enjoy "The Tee Trees," where many years of broken tees have created a truly unique monument.
I have always looked for hides like this, but never found any hidden just this way. I did a test "find" with my kids and my gps, and cords are a little bouncy, but GZ eventually settles at GZ. The cache itself is modeled off something I found online, made of recycled materials, and probably the ugliest cache container you've ever seen. Be careful! Only one end (labeled) opens. It does not have room for a golf ball, but does have exactly enough room to hold the log and one standard size marble.
I was thinking fellow marble collectors might trade these out-- the first one yellow, blue and red pee-wee sized marble. I certainly hope you don't lose yours while searching for this cache! No bushwhacking required!
